Food Philosophy
Laura is a Certified Health Coach, recognized by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners with a professional background in food and nutrition security and agricultural policy. She practices a holistic approach to health and wellness, looking at how all areas of life are connected: stress, sleep, energy levels, and so forth. She works with clients to develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for each person and implement lasting changes that improve energy levels and promote balance and well being.
Here are some concepts that define her approach to nutrition:
-The concept of bio-individuality is that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison. Positive changes need to be made based on unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background. This requires a personalized, holistic approach to ensure success.
-It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these other areas of life are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary.
-As a dedicated environmentalist and strong believer that the natural world is our greatest teacher, Laura emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. She can introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your specific needs.
